Hi RGBD team:
I've used rgbd kit for a while, its such a great tool.
I bought a new mac book pro 15', and somehow it is not working with the latest os 10.10 properly.
the app is always frozen and can't even do the calibration. So I need to go back to win7 with my old desktop.
Sincerely hope the team can take a look at this problem.

Hi there,
We've had success using the toolkit on 10.10. There is a chance your mac book pro 15' does not actually have a decent enough graphics card. Can you send the specifications across so we can test?
Glad you had a windows version to default to, at least.

That should be fine! There is some other issue going on.
We saw a computer recently that had a similar problem, where the depthdata was crazy slow but the IR image was fine. There is definitely an interaction with Yosemite and the toolkit that causes problems. Please be patient as we sort it out
The visualization stage should be fine on your new machine, if the capture stage is still on windows for the time being.

Thank you for he help, to be honest...big part of the reason that i bought the new macbook is to do more projects with depth kit and kinect portably.

One thing you could do is bootcamp to windows for capture and then switch to os x for visualization and editing, for now at least

I'm planning to start using rgbtoolkit and I'm studying your newsgroup to see what is the best hardware/software combo.
I'm currently running Yosemite, which looks like it could be working. Would you recommend it or should I reinstall an older osx version?
Also could I use the new Kinect instead of the old one? I have to buy one and if the latter does work with the current software I'd like to give it a go.

We have seen a few issues on some machines running Yosemite during the capture stage. I recommend 10.9 or below just because it's well tested.
We currently have a version of the depthkit that supports the new version 2 Kinect from Microsoft but it's in private beta as we are approaching this next release differently.
Please get in touch off list for more info on that version.
