I sail my DragonForce on a salt water pond. The connectors on the battery extension wire suffer from corrosion which means no power to the receiver. Has anyone had this problem and is there a simple solution. All suggestions welcome.

When I sail on salt water I use WD40 contact cleaner, it comes with a built in nozzle and I give the contacts a spray before and after sailing, works for me but I don't sail on salt water very much, also make sure you rinse out the inside of yacht with fresh water every time you sail, I have a hand spray as well to spray down the hull and sails.
hope this helps

Is the extension wire connector just loose in the bilges? I make sure mine is fixed to the servo tray so it is kept clear of any water. Secondly, make sure the boat is really well sealed before sailing and immediately after sailing, wash the outside off  and make sure the inside is dry. If it isn't, then rinse the bilges out thoroughly. I always leave the boat open between races.

I only sail on salt water a few times a year, but rarely have any corrosion problems as far as  connectors go.

David.

Hi ianthom... ,
well I have no salt wather in the near but I was only one time on salt water with my power boat and after this i must change one modul and two corrodet conectors. There is possibility to use some preservative oil mixture in spray.
To preserv any humidity I use the "Nanoprotech" for electronic. Its perfect because it doesnt leave any greasy film on the surface. And just for shure I put one small bag of Silicagel in to the hull. You can find it in the box with new shoes. But the spray should protect the conectors for one season. The cleaning process after sailing on salt water with fresh wather is realy necessary. To protect the hull surface use polishing wax for cars. It protect the painting and prevent before salty white stains ;).
