Curious to hear what others have used for a controller in their amplifier.

Hi Everyone,

I just updated the Amplifier Control Website with info on an Arduino Mega based system developed by N2VSD.

Check it out.

Hi Jim,

thanks for posting this. I took a quick look, and it seems there is a disconnect between the documentation and the code: The cannot find any reference to measuring the bias voltage and current in the code. Is this for future development?

HI Karl,

The whole thing is just a starting point, it's not step-by-step instructions. If you don't have any experience with Arduinos when you start, you will by the time you are done!

The first thing I would look at is using a different display, The Adafruit unit is nice but it's very expensive. Maybe a unit from BuyDisplay.com would be a good choice.

I know that Bill has implemented protection software for forward and reflected power and we also talked about measuring the DC input power and comparing it to the RF output power that way the system can find internal faults like the wrong filter selection or a bad cable without damaging the MOSFET.

FYI, Anyone looking to use this controller, CS on the HXD8357D  will need to be connected to PIN 53. This isn't in the writeup.
