It gives us great pleasure to inform you about a recent announcement from the Bar Council of India.

The Bar Council has passed a resolution announcing stipend for junior lawyers! 

RFGI has been working towards this issue since more than five years and is one of the first organisations in the country to raise a voice against the exploitative nature of juniorship. Our report on 'Entry Barriers to Litigation' can be accessed here. 

We are glad that through this step, bright young lawyers will be encouraged to join litigation, which in turn will help towards reducing the massive backlog of cases in our courts.
