Hi,

Question.
Would it be possible to create a continues stream (instead of a limited
size packets) using a si4432 based device?

One of the other projects I am involved is a GMSK-based HF/UHF modem for
codec2 (the open-source 1200/1400/2400 voice codec created by David
Rowe). One runs at 2400 bps, the other at 4800 bps.

If I understand it correctly, the si4432 has a limited onboard FIFO
buffer and generates a hardware interrupt every time it is drained to
much. So, perhaps feed a continues c2gmsk stream from a device over the
serial port to an arduino and use that as an intermediate buffer between
the device that generated the codec2 stream (say an RPi or a BBB) and a
si4432.

Of course, I don't know how these transceiver-modules are able to deal
with a minute-long emission. Bascially, these are packet transceivers,
intented for short bursty transmissions, not for continues use

Any ideas?

Cheerio! Kr. Bonne.

As I read the data sheets, there is a mode to disable digital packetization and pass a signal on a certain pin as a continuous flow, and the reverse on the receiver.
I think that input is digital, as if a coded waveform with no byte or frame boundaries.

Hello,

Yes, Steve is correct.
