Car Smart Keys PKEsystem RF signal 312 MHz testing

Hi All,

I have just acquired a hand held "RF-Explorer  3G Combo" to assist me in testing car Smart Key RF signals but I'm struggling to set it up to work on 312 -315 MHz range I've read the user manual but still not getting it working. Please being a newbie is there any one who can perhaps explain the set-up procedure in layman's terms.

Looking at the latest manual on the RFExplorer webpage, can you tell us what you have your 3G setup with regards to page 16 of the manual (Frequency Menu)?  On my unit, the Center Frequency is: 0313.000, Freq Span: 010.000.  In the Attenuator Menu, I have the Calculators set to Max Hold.  When I key up my Key FOB, I get a signal that ranges from 310MHz to 318MHz.   My antenna input is 15-2700MHz and I have the Key FOB 2-3 inches from the antenna.
