I have noticed that increasing the amplitude offset beyond 20dB the displayed/corrected amplitude is completely off. I am not sure whether this is a bug in the new firmare: RF Explorer Spectrum Analyzer Firmware v1.12 Beta 31 or if it is a known limitation based on the method of internal software calculation.

I have a 6G spectrum analyser, and it was set to dBuV units and I was using the dB offset in the menu to correct the voltage reading from dBuV by a factor of 30dB. The uncorrected reading was 27dBuV. When I increased to 20dB offset it correctly displayed 47dBuV, when I increased it to 30dB offset the displayed value as 200dBuV which clearly incorrect.

Can you anyone please advise?

Regards,

Pablo

Hi Pablo,

Thanks for reporting this. It may be a boundary limitation in dBuV with OffsetDB, we will review and fix. This is unlikely to be related with any recent firmware update.
