I’ve recently worked with a Python script named Salamander.py, that uses an SDR dongle and the rtl-sdr Python library, specifically the rtl_power library to detect frequency power levels of a select range of frequencies. The project can be found on GitHub at https://github.com/eldraco/Salamandra

I wanted to share this research with this group to see if this capability could be ported, or applied using the RF Explorer Python framework to produce the same result using power level results from the RF Explorer. It would take some work to determine how Salamandra.py computes the power level values to identify the location of microphone listening devices…this would be an interesting capability.

I’ll be looking into the Salamandra source code and the RF Explorer Python API to determine feasibility of implementing this with RF Explorer.
