RF Explorer software and firmware upgrades are available, including new firmware v3.18 for PLUS models with the ability to store and replay sweeps in the Spectrum Analyzer device internal memory.

Is there any reason to upgrade to the v3.18 firmware if the record/play function will never be used? In other words, if we don't want to buy the license, is the v3.18 upgrade still worthwhile?

Hi Whit,
Besides record/play function there are no significant changes in v3.18 when compared to v3.17, you can wait till the next firmware upgrade.

Congratulations! ... you have turned what should an almost automatic two minute firmware update into a frustrating and convoluted process of jumping through hoops. Almost makes me want to give the RF Explorer instruments away :(

Hi,
Sorry to hear you found problems upgrading your device firmware. The upgrade process is exactly the same as v3.17. Can you elaborate on what issues you had?
