"Pre Cablibration". ??

I just got an RF Explorer ISM Combo. At power-up, it says "pre-calibration". Is this one that was missed at the factory?
When I connect to a computer and open Touchstone, the display blanks out. When I press enter the display comes on, but a blinking HLD is all it will display. Normal? (Sure wish there was a Marker available on Touchstone :-)
I was going to upgrade the firmware from my office Mac, but found the documentation to be incomplete and/or contradictory ;-(

Hi Tim,
The message "pre-calibration" is expected at certain steps where the unit must internally recalculate some calibration data. It should stay a couple of seconds only, otherwise change your Freq Span to a smaller number to re-init the calibration process. Touchstone and Vantage use a multi-scan process to allow finer scan steps, in this configuration the LCD is blank.
