Hey All,

Been using RF Explorer modules for the last 3+ years now (RFE 3G combo and RFE 6G), but I'm new to coding, terminal, python, etc.
Below is the setup that I have:

Raspberry Pi 3 B (headless)
-Running .img provided by RFExplorer.com (loT version)
-Ethernet ssh and VNC are setup to interface with RPi
-Terminal and VNC Viewer on MacBook Pro running 10.12.4
-RFE 6G connecting via USB

I am wondering how to get started interfacing with my RFE6G.  There are no step-by-step instructions that I could find... Just libraries, and example code, with no explanation as to how to execute them.

If someone could give me a few pointers to get me off the ground, it would be much appreciated...

As always: Thanks Ariel for making and continually improving upon such a great tool.  I've been using the RFE3G Combo and RFE6G professionally as a RF coordinator for the past few years, and it performs as expected.

Regards,
-Jason

Hi Jason,

Thanks for your feedback and support through the years.

The Raspberry Pi box works the same as any Linux box, as far as standard Handheld RF Explorer models is concerned.

The Python or .NET libraries are the only way to currently interface RF Explorer from Linux. Additional GUI tools may come up in the future, but we are not clear yet on how much effort can dedicate to that in the near term.

On the other hand, that is the perfect environment for the IoT modules, where 24/7 applications with low profile are typically used. Examples and libraries are currently oriented to depict such applications, and we are adding more in the near future.
