RFE software

I have the 6G Combo Plus (7.5G) model of Spectrum Analyzer and the 6GHz Signal Generator.

In the RFE Touch software on Ubuntu Linux 24.04.1, whatever frequency or amplitude I set on the Freq Gen does not reflect on the screen in SA mode. In SNA mode, normalization takes place correctly only at -10dBm or above, not below.

Under Windows 11 Pro, changes in frequency show up but not changes in Amplitude. But in Windows in SNA mode, it is impossible to normalize - it will keep complaining that it is receiving return below -80dBm and to check cables etc when the same setup is normalizing under Linux.

Other software Touchstone Free, Rational Waves and Clearwaves do not connect to the SA, throwing an error saying either there is a problem with the USB driver or the device firmware needs to be upgraded, because the Serial Number is not accessible. Which is incorrect because my SA has the latest firmware. None of the above software works, all three throwing the same error, while the rf-explorer software connect immediately.

Both devices seem to be working ok otherwise, but the combo of hardware and software are not allowing me to use this as an SA or an SNA. What can be the problem?

Have you installed the driver for the cable? That part is important for the device and computer to see each other. I had the same problem before
