Guys,
I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but you really have to clean better. I spend almost my entire 3 hour shift every week SUPER cleaning everything. Let's look at an example: the counter. During your shift, clean the ENTIRE thing. MOVE objects, clean underneath and behind them, clean the top of them (ex. the machines) and then move them back. It's not that hard. The top of the espresso machine NEVER gets cleaned under the grates. ****If you're closing tonight, please put the grates through the dishwasher.*** The muffin display never gets cleaned on top, on the sides, or inside. Adam did a "social experiment" last week, and you guys failed. He spilled coffee beans and decided to let a handful stay under the muffin display to see if they were cleaned up. When I clean the counters today, I found them there. Not ok. CLEAN. RESTOCK. TAKE INITIATIVE. The back room needs to be mopped, and also needs as much cleaning as the front. Keep the shelves organized. Keep stuff off of the floor. Don't just leave stuff lying around back there. Things have been broken back there because the sink area isn't kept clean and organized. Things are also very confusing by the sink- if something is dirty, put it directly onto one of the dishwasher trays. If things come out of the dishwasher and need more drying, put them on the drying rack, THEN PUT THEM AWAY WHEN THEY ARE DRY. From now on, whenever I come in and see people sitting around doing homework behind the counter, I am going to go check their cleaning tasks for their shift and see if they've been done. I'll also just check generally to see if things are clean, because even if it's not one of your tasks, if it's really dirty, you gotta clean it up. I'm sorry to have to be so mean about this, but cleanliness is way too important to let slide. I'm pretty sure if the health inspector came he would NOT be pleased with us. I admit you guys are doing a lot better at keeping things in shape, but it's still not good enough. I really don't like being mean, and so if I don't have to, I'll love you all for it.
Molly
