In Bedford we vote on a new $31.8 mill capital bond next Tuesday. Included is $2mill+ for to refurbish our astroturf running track. The new track will have a useful life of 10 years, so in 10 years we will have to do it again.
My daughter goes to school at Masters in Dobbs Ferry. They just installed a new track. Did anyone at your school call Masters to see if they could rent space on it for meets or even to practice on? There is also a great indoor track facility in upper Manhattan at a former armory, I believe, close to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Masters goes there for some winter track meets.
Tracks can be a shared facility - though everyone prefers to have their own bright and shiney one, unless you're a taxpayer who gets stuck with the bill.

We are busy in Hastings trying to stop a bond issue for a state-of-the-art athletic issue that is a bad idea for a lot of reasons – mainly financial. Vote next week.
