task: to upgrade to next Fedora version using rex

and I want the task to work through the 2 reboots that are recommended.

so upgrade fedora, reboot, dnf download the next version of Fedora,

reboot and then have rex send an email that the reboot has been completed.

I wrote a a bash script to do this but I would rather do it from rex.

So, from rex, Is there a way to detect when the remote computer is back on line.

Is there interaction during the OS upgrade process? I wonder how this would be handled, eg. freebsd-update does user interaction to merge configuration files selectively during the upgrade.

Yes. ie. dnf  -y upgrade --refresh handles it automatically, and there are 2 reboots during the process.
