Community School of Music and Arts Presents
Piano Duo Concert with Titan and Jove Yuan
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) in Mountain View presents a concert with piano prodigies Titan Yuan and Jove Yuan on Saturday, May 31 at 4:00pm. The performance will be held at Tateuchi Hall at the Community School of Music and Arts, located at 230 San Antonio Circle in Mountain View. This event is free and open to the public. Celebrate with a reception immediately following the concert.
During this performance, Titan Yuan will perform Concert for Piano and Orchestra in G Major in 3 movements by Maurice Ravel. Jove Yuan will perform Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 in D flat Major by Sergei Prokofiev. Accompaniment will be provided by pianist Dmitriy Cogan.
Titan and Jove are Merit Scholarship students of Ludmila Kurtova (an internationally-acclaimed pianist and a CSMA Distinguished Teacher). The brothers, who are twins, are in 10th grade at the German International School of Silicon Valley. Both have studied piano with Ms. Kurtova since 2005. In addition to the piano, Jove plays the cello and Titan studies violin. CSMA Merit Scholars are awarded scholarships based on a high-level of commitment, talent and achievement in their music studies. Merit Scholars and their families are regarded as local ambassadors for the CSMA Music School and perform at high-profile events throughout the community.
A world-renowned pianist, Ludmila Kurtova has more than 30 years of performance experience as a member of the Moscow State Philharmonic, an organization of the best musical performers in the former Soviet Union. She is a graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory, one of the world’s leading music schools. Her experience includes over 50 recitals per year around the world as a soloist and chamber performer. For her performances in the United States, Ms. Kurtova has received numerous honors, including a United Nations honorary medal. An exceptional teacher, she has been a member of the CSMA Faculty since 1998, teaching private piano lessons and chamber music.
“We are so proud to showcase the talents of Titan and Jove Yuan – two of our excellent Merit Scholarship students,” said Vickie Scott Grove, Executive Director of CSMA. “We are also thrilled to demonstrate the caliber of the CSMA faculty with Ludmila Kurtova. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate the talents of these amazing young musicians!”
