Embrace the Winter Season | |
On Monday, December 6, 2021 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. the City will celebrate the winter season with the Community Tree Lighting Celebration in Downtown Mountain View. The celebration will feature local performances, tributes to multicultural and diverse traditions, free refreshments, a train ride, the lighting of the community tree and an appearance from Santa!
The event will be centered at Civic Center Plaza (500 Castro Street) and extend onto Castro Street. This event is free and open to the public. Limited parking is available around Downtown Mountain View.

Thankful for the Holidays | |
Thanks for Thanksgiving
Ages 3 to 5 | Wednesdays, November 10 - 24 | 1-2 p.m.

Hosted at the Mountain View Community Center, children will learn about the changing seasons and harvest. This class will be filled with acts of kindness, songs, books and crafts. This celebration of harvest and Thanksgiving will be a fantastic time for your child to participate in fun preschool activities in a nurturing classroom setting.

Write a Letter to Santa
This holiday season, all children, who are residents of Mountain View, can put together their wish lists and send them to Santa! Sending a letter is free and is available to Mountain View residents only.
There are two easy ways for Santa to receive letters: drop your child’s letter in Santa’s mailbox located in the Mountain View Community Center lobby (201 South Rengstorff Avenue) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday or mail your letter to City of Mountain View Recreation Division, c/o Santa Claus, P.O. Box 7540, Mountain View, CA 94039. Don’t forget to include your return address so Santa can respond. Letters will be accepted until Friday, December 10.

Santa's Workshop
Ages 6 to 10 | Saturday, December 11 | 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Santa’s Elves are hard at work in the North Pole making toys and wrapping presents for all the children this holiday season. Join the elves at Santa’s Workshop for a jolly-filled time in building and creating some incredible holiday themed crafts! Children will have the opportunity to design ornaments, decorate cookies, customize their own stocking, make a snowy wonderland globe, write a letter to Santa, and so much more!

Resident registration for the 2022 winter session (January through March) begins Monday, November 22, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. Non-resident registration begins Monday, November 29, 2021 at 8:30 a.m.

Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period and 2022 Updates

Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP) representative will be leading a Medicare Annual Enrollment Period presentation for those to learn more about Medicare changes taking effect on January 1, 2022. Every year, Medicare, Part D drug plans and Part C Medicare Advantage plans make changes to their coverage, costs, including the deductible, premium, and copayments / coinsurance. Will these changes affect you, your coverage or finances?

Exploring Art with Watercolors

Looking to try something new? Join Movements for the Mind, a high school student led group, in painting with watercolors. Participants will be learning how to use the watercolors to create a beautiful painting. No prior experience is needed so anyone can join!
