DISPLACEMENT RESPONSE STRATEGY
Responding to tenant displacement is a top priority for the City of Mountain View. The City wants your input as it develops a displacement response strategy. A comprehensive community outreach process will be held in January and February 2023 to gather public input about potential policies and programs for preventing and addressing displacement of tenants from their homes. This outreach process will include a series of community meetings, as follows:

*Spanish and Mandarin interpretation will be available for the meetings on Jan. 12, 25, and 26, and Feb. 21. Childcare and light dinner/refreshments will also be available at no cost at the Jan. 26 meeting.
The City also invites individuals and organizations to meet one-on-one with staff to provide input on policies and programs that should be considered as part of the displacement response strategy. Contact displaceme...@mountainview.gov to schedule a meeting, or to send any questions or comments. A response will be provided within 48 hours.
The City will use the feedback received during this process to inform the development of a Displacement Response Strategy that the City Council will consider in 2023. The options include acquisition and/or preservation of rent-stabilized units, replacement requirements for existing units demolished as part of new residential development, and other potential programs. The input will also be used to inform related City efforts such as the R3 Zoning Update (MountainView.gov/R3ZoningUpdate) and the Housing Element Update (MVHousingElement.org). A follow up meeting specifically for the R3 project will be held at a future date.

Responder al desplazamiento de los inquilinos es una de las prioridades más importantes de la Ciudad de Mountain View. La Ciudad utilizará los comentarios recibidos durante este proceso para elaborar el desarrollo de una estrategia de respuesta al desplazamiento. El Concejo de la Ciudad considerará dicha estrategia en 2023. Las opciones incluyen la adquisición y/o preservación de unidades de alquiler estabilizado, los requisitos de sustitución de las unidades existentes demolidas como parte de un nuevo desarrollo residencial y otros programas potenciales. Las aportaciones también se utilizarán para guiar los esfuerzos de la Ciudad relacionados a este asunto, tales como la actualización de la zonificación R3 (MountainView.gov/R3ZoningUpdate) y la actualización del Elemento de Vivienda (MVHousingElement.org). En una fecha futura se celebrará una reunión de seguimiento específicamente relacionada al proyecto R3.
