Their web site says:
"Please note - since we often shield the victims of domestic violence we do not publish our address"

""Despite written BBB Wise Giving Alliance requests in the past
year, this organization either has not responded to Alliance requests
for information or has declined to be evaluated in relation to the
Alliance’s Standards for Charity Accountability. While participation in
the Alliance’s charity review efforts is voluntary, the Alliance
believes that this lack of cooperation may demonstrate a lack of
commitment to transparency and accountability. ""

/""We have had another unknown person walking our neighborhood. This
gentleman was walking up to the houses in a random manner and taking
notes. One of our observant neighbors, SB, saw him and confronted him.
The man claimed he was with a rescue home and when SB inquired further,
he became a little disoriented in his answers. SB asked for ID and was
shown a piece of paper carried by this man. It was www.usmission.org.""

""/A former priest who left the Roman
Catholic Church in 1994 after being accused of molesting a teenage boy
in Southern California apparently has been working in Salinas for the
past two years as an advocate for the homeless.
Lynn Caffoe had been working at a United States Mission office in
Salinas until officials there asked him to leave two weeks ago after
learning of his history. Since then, his whereabouts have been unclear.
'We had no idea,' said a man at United States Mission who would give only his first name, Allen.""
Hopefully they get their act together. It sounds like they are not open enough and
are allowing questionable people into their organization.
George Bush gave them an endorsement in 2000:

Yes, it is www.usmission.org. Regarding U.S. Missions statement that
they are a domestic violence shelter agency and therefore do not publish
their address, just emphasize that they are not a legitimate agency. I
headed up one of the four domestic violence shelter in Santa Clara
County in the past and know that there U.S. Mission does not have a
domestci violence shelter or a homeless shelter in Santa Clara County.
In addition, all the legitamate domestic violence shelter agencys in
California do have main offices that are located separate from the
shelter. (Note: when I use to head up a domestic violence shelter, I was
involved in state-wide funding source meeting so I know shelter use main
offices for their addresses. No grant money would ever be given to a
P.O. Box.)
If anyone is interested in donation money to homeless shelters or
domestic violence shelter which service Santa Clara County, let me know
and I would be happy to provide you with some agency names. One of the
closest domestic violence shelter agency is Support Network for Battered
Woman. They were located in Mountain View for decades and had moved a
couple of years ago to Sunnyvale.
