Pianist Sarah Cahill’s The Future is Female: A Celebration of the Centennial of the 19th Amendment on March 20


MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) presents pianist Sarah Cahill’s The Future is Female: A Celebration of the Centennial of the 19th Amendment. Cahill’s The Future is Female: A Celebration of the Centennial of the 19th Amendment celebrates female composers to mark the centennial of women gaining the right to vote. Her program will feature classical works by women around the globe from the 18th century to the present day. Margaret Bonds, "Troubled Water"


Sarah Cahill is an American pianist, writer, producer and radio host who is based in the Bay Area. She has been hailed as “a sterling pianist and an intrepid illuminator of the classical avant-garde” by The New York Times and “a brilliant and charismatic advocate for modern and contemporary composers” by Time Out New York. She has worked closely with composers Terry Riley, Lou Harris and Aki Takahashi, and has performed classical and contemporary chamber music with artists such as Jessica Lang Dance, Joseph Kubera and Regina Myers. She is the host of KALW’s “Revolutions Per Minute.”


This event is part of CSMA’s 2020-2021 Community Concert Series. In keeping with CSMA’s mission to provide Arts for All, Community Concerts are free and open to the public. CSMA provides unique music and visual arts programming and events for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
