When asked about his film career, Kapil Sharma said, "When I got love from people on TV, offers for films naturally came. In my first film(Kis Kis Ko Pyar Karoon), I got 4 heroines. Mazaa aa gaya tha, Sir. Then I thought since heroines come to my show, why not get four heroines for my film. But I got a single heroine in my next film . ..Woh waala romance nahin hua Sir, uske saath."

Rajat Sharma asked why he invested Rs 35 crore in his film 'Firangi; which flopped badly, Kapil Sharma replied: "Woh Sir thoda ho gaya, bank balance khujli ho rahi thi, mujhe laga, laga dete hain. Dil se banayi thi woh film, us process ko bahut enjoy kiya tha....Insaan galtiyan kar kar ke seekhta hai. Films main karta rahoonga."(It so happened, my bank balance gave me the itch, I invested my money. I made the film with zest. I enjoyed the process..People learn by committing mistakes. I will continue to make films).

On the work front, Kapil Sharma is currently seen leaving the audience laughing in his show- The Kapil Sharma Show which airs on TV every weekend. He also has his next Bollywood movie 'Zwigato' ready to be released on March 17. The film is directed by Nandita Das and also stars Shahana Goswami. The film is about a man named Manas (Kapil) who loses his managerial job during the Covid lockdown and is forced to take up the job of a delivery boy. How he survives in that competitive environment when all the delivery boys are working to earn the incentives and how he takes care of his family makes the core of the film.

Firangi has turned out to be a major flop at the Box Office with collections just about managing to cross the Rs. 10 crore mark. This is real poor for the Kapil Sharma starrer which had anyways released with hardly any buzz and no hype whatsoever. Though nothing major was expected out of the film in any case, there was still some sort of hope that hard-core fans of Kapil Sharma may just about step in. However, even that didn't happen and hence the faintest of hopes around the film too faded away in the weekend itself. Further to that weekdays didn't see any increase in footfalls either, hence resulting in a total crash.

As for Tera Intezaar, it was a non-starter from the very first show and very poor results right through the week further sealed its fate. The film has done even poorer than earlier week's release Julie 2 and had a first week of just around Rs. 2 crore. This is where the film would end as well as there are hardly any shows running in the second week. Sunny Leone has delivered yet another major disaster at the Box Office and one now waits to see which film does she pick up next as a leading lady.

Meanwhile, Tumhari Sulu benefitted most from lack of competition and has now accumulated Rs. 34.14 crore already. The film will now be going past Rs. 36 crore lifetime in its eventual run and that is a very good result for the film that was made at very low costs. This one is indeed a surprise success for Bollywood on this side of the year.

Sharing the picture on Instagram, Kapil wrote, "Your Order is Placed. Applause Entertainment & Nandita Das Initiatives are thrilled to present the most exciting collaboration of the year. Writer-Director-Producer Nandita Das teams up with Kapil Sharma in a never seen before avatar of a food delivery rider. Kapil will be joined by Shahana Goswami as the female lead. Filming soon! Need your blessings".

This announcement has left fans crazy who are excited to see Kapil on the silver screen once again. There's also a small section of social media users who joked about the comedian's flop film Firangi.

A user wrote, "Good Luck Kapil". Another Instagram user commented, "Firangi ke baad to reham karo". A third comment read, "Kapil bhai sambhaal lena iss baar (laughing emojis) Congratulations and all the best".

Talking about the film, Kapil said in a statement, "I am very excited about this project, not because I am doing a film, but because I am doing Nandita Das film, whom I have seen both as an actor and a director. She has a very distinct and deep way of looking at things and a keen eye for detailing. So my job as an actor is to just do what she tells me. Her work is very different from mine, and I am happy that the audience will get to see a new side of me".
