High price / Mediocre quality
By Bryan S. Karolian
Sorry SF, but I was disappointed when I opened the box. I have been in the military for 17 years and have always spent my own money to ensure I had your flashlights. I still have my metal Z Combat light from 99'. I outfitted all of my boat crews with your lights for night time ops. We attached your lights to our carbines. I was told the Minimus headlamps were too expensive so we had to buy Petzel instead. At 3x the price your headlamp isn't any better than the Tac Tikka... There IS some aircraft aluminum to hold the battery and house the switch, but that's where you guys must've run out of money. The lights head frame is made of plastic and the strap is the skinniest, thinnest and weakest band out there. The bulb is cool and the snap on light covers are ok, but your competition (Petzl, Browning, Princeton, etc) have dedicated bulbs for this purpose. I really feel let down having spent $150+ on this product. I loved the look and concept, but wasn't expecting the cheap materials, especially from you. Sorry for the bad review, but you earned it.

Headlight technology has come a long way
By Nick P.
This headlight is light-years ahead of any similar product I have tried.
It fits comfortably with the forehead foam pad.
The light beam has a good field of view, is a fairly smooth beam (the Fresnel lens is well constructed) and I really enjoy the ability to adjust the brightness.
It's also very ruggedly constructed out of what feels like a solid piece of aluminum. All seams are sealed with robust black rubber O-rings. The ability to twist the light up and down feels very solid and doesn't feel like it will become loose any time soon.
Surefire quality shines through with this new headlight, and I am very pleased with it.

another headlamp

Is it worth speding $120? Hmm, I didn't think so (hence returned) It is typical Surefire item, well designed and well executed. However, with 123CR battery used, it's limiting its usage as emergency backup light, as in most counties I've been to, this type of battery is very hard to find...even in one of the develop country like Japan after the Tsunami last year. So I returned this headlamp, and bought 3 Princeton Tec lights instead (BTW, Princeton is also MADE IN USA) And I am happy with it, knowing the fact the blightness is okay, and I know I can get battreis at majority of countries that I'd end up deployed to. Again, this is great kit, no doubt, but for me it just didn't work out.
