Is it possible to tag a user in comments, for example @username, and automatically send a notification to that person?

This is currently not possible. We've discussed notifications in the past, but haven't come to any consensus. What format would you like the notification to take?

I think adding an @mention feature in Review Board would be very useful. It would allow users to:

1. Type @ to mention teammates, with an auto-complete for user suggestions (like in Jira).
2. Notify mentioned users automatically via email or system messages to ensure visibility.
3. Highlight mentions in comments as clickable links.

Such a feature would make collaboration more efficient, especially during reviews, by targeting the relevant stakeholders directly.
