Demo Day - 11am PST / 2pm EST Dec 15th

Hey everyone,

It looks like we're going to schedule the project demonstrations Google+ Hangout for Saturday. We'll go with the same time as the meetings, so that will be 11am PST / 2pm EST Saturday, Dec 15th. It's probably a good idea for everyone to still join IRC so we can troubleshoot any invite issues etc.

For anyone who hasn't used Google+ Hangout before, you'll need to install the plugin, which I believe you can get from https://tools.google.com/dlpage/hangoutplugin . It's probably a good idea to make sure your screen-sharing and microphone works before Saturday. If you need someone to test with, or need help troubleshooting, just let me know in IRC.

I know there has been issues in the past with screensharing in hangouts with linux, but everything appears to be fixed. If you do have issues though, one work around is to create a virtual webcam which displays your screen, or a region. When I demoed before I did this using http://www.ws4gl.org/

Hey guys, I can't make it to tomorrow's hangout. My parents are coming to visit and i need to pick them up at the airport at around that time. I'll be there for the post-mortem though! :)

in to work tomorrow (and possibly Sunday, too) due to RIM's BB10
deadlines.

I'm also going to miss this, because my wife is getting sworn in to the CA bar. A recording would be awesome! It looks like you need to enable "Hangouts on Air" to get a recording of the hangout.

I'll be there on Sunday for the post-mortem. Maybe we can have additional demos at that time for people who have to miss on Saturday.

Just a note that to upload "Hangouts on Air" videos to Youtube, whoever starts the hangout needs a verified Youtube account. Otherwise, the video gets cut after 15 minutes (or so I've read).

I have verified my Youtube account (Thanks for the heads up Michelle) and have Google Apps for Buisness, so I can host a 15 person hangout and record it.
