My name is Art, my Muslim name is Mustafa. I pledged my shahada a few
years ago and have been struggling to find a home mosque since. I
will say I am on a through "Salam" level of familiarity at multiple
mosque's.

Shukran for this information, I am trying to get to the heart of the matter because I attend a class for converts and in order to really be able to recommend this group to them it would be nice to have some real info to give them. Such as name, contact info, purpose of group, etc, etc... Also, I saw this ad on multiple Shia Muslim websites, is this a shia revert group or Sunni group? The ad mentioned a speaker will be at the mtg, can you tell me whom it will be? Also the class I attend is at the IMAM-Dearborn center so it would be nice to facilitate there involvement with the group but more info is needed for that.

At this point, the group is me, Jason Smart(also known as Kassim and Abu Hadi), and my sister Leyla. Also there are some brothers who are willing to give help and support to new reverts, but they wish to remain anonymous at this point. All are well known members of the community and hold professional positions in various companies in SE Michigan. We have a practical focus on individual needs and situations, and also on spiritual development. Also, the group is more of a horizontal rather than a vertical based leadership model. We bring people together to make connections and they see how we can help. When you ask about Sunni / Shia, the majority of the people in the group are Shia, but also some Sunni brothers involved. We try our best to follow Islam as taught to us by Rasoulallah(pbuh) and Ahl Al Bayt(a.s).
