Folks,

Hope this e-mail finds you all well.  I thought I sent an e-mail about this back in January of this year, but I could not find it in my outbox.  May have sent it from a different computer.  In any case, I figured another e-mail was in order.

Back in January my web hosting service shutdown my entire site and sent me a notice informing me that I had violated my hosting terms.  After some investigation, I discovered that the forum had been hijacked and used for spamming purposes.  The forum has been hijacked numerous times in recent years, but this was the first time it was used for active spamming to my knowledge.  To get my service reinstated, I had to address the issue with the hijacked forum, and agree to take any actions necessary to prevent a repeat.  Given the dwindling Pocket PC user base, rather than update the license for the forum software and actively keep up to date with security patches, I opted to disable the Support Forums. The forums have been down for over 6 months now, but I was able to bring the rest of the site back online, making the e-books and software hosted on my site available for download.

The reason for this e-mail is that my web-hosting service is coming up for renewal in the next few months, and I do not intend to renew the hosting part of my service.   I will be keeping the yanceyware.com domain and looking into some alternative solutions for hosting e-mails and perhaps some files, but do not necessarily intend to maintain an active website or transfer and continue hosting YanCEyWare Reader related materials.  I know Mark sent out an e-mail some time ago indicating he was also interested in discontinuing hosting of the e-book database on his site (which is where the e-books tab on my site points).

Any thoughts or concerns about these resources just going away in the coming months?

Thanks!

I am still hoping to find a way to transfer the 10 years of annotations from YanCEyWare to Gospel Library and have always hoped that the solution would some day show up in the support forms. Has anyone had any luck doing this?
Thanks
