Dear all,

We are happy to announce the upcoming course Phylogenetic Comparative Methods in R, running online from 15–19 June.

Course website: https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/course44/

This course provides a hands-on introduction to how these methods can be used to study trait evolution and diversification using time-calibrated phylogenies.

Over five days, participants will combine lectures and practical sessions to learn how to:

  • Build and interpret ultrametric phylogenies (chronograms)
  • Reconstruct trait evolution across lineages
  • Explore models of diversification and evolutionary rates
  • Apply phylogenetic comparative methods in R

The course is aimed at advanced students, researchers, and professionals with a basic background in evolutionary biology and some familiarity with R. Participants are also welcome to bring their own datasets for discussion and guidance.

Best regards,

Carlo
