Siri For Android Assistant makes it easier to interact with your phone and offers a fun and playful assistant that can help you get more done with your phone. The app works on a wide variety of platforms and takes minimal time to install.
Of course, you can still enjoy Siri in other ways aside from using it as a handy messenger. Calls and texts aside, the intelligent voice assistant can also be asked to conduct web searches on your behalf, again saving you the time in visiting Google on your own. Aside from that, Siri can also assist you in providing that much-needed entertainment by asking it to play music for you. The app is undeniably flexible, making it ultimately reliable. It acts like that extra pair of hands you never knew you needed.
What makes Siri endearing to its users is that you will never feel like you are actually talking to an AI. Siri has its own personality and can respond to its users in a conversational manner instead of a stoic and robotic one. It has the ability to construct full sentences that its responses to your questions are not as lifeless as you would expect. Most users use Siri for fun by trying to have debates with the voice assistant or asking it trivial questions. In fact, Siri can also recognize colloquialisms and other nasty words, and it can generate a response that is appropriate for them.
Siri proves to be helpful and adds convenience to everyday life. Using it increases productivity and saves time in a number of ways. Aside from the usual calls, texts, and e-mails, Siri can also be used for online shopping or simply just a conversation partner for people. It is a very engaging AI assistant that many people appreciate. The app comes with its own personality that makes interactions with its users more human and personal.
Long gone are the days that we would just use our phones to call and text people. Now we need our phones daily to wake us up in the morning with an alarm, set reminders on our calendars, look up random questions, and so much more. And having a virtual assistant like Siri makes those tasks so much easier to carry out. But is there a Siri for Android?
Siri may have been the first digital assistant to become mainstream, but she's certainly not the only one now. Even iPhone users have sometimes turned away from Siri in favor of a different virtual assistant app, some of which are surely on this list.
As you might expect, Assistant can make calendar appointments and answer questions. But with it, Google is trying to expand our idea of what digital personal assistants can do, like place calls and make reservations on your behalf.
Hound is a really awesome alternative to Siri and the larger virtual assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Hound can help you do all the usual assistant tasks like setting alarms and timers, telling you the news or the weather, and calling and texting contacts.
Amazon has taken the world by storm and Alexa is shining at the forefront. Alexa has become a household assistant, so why not use her on your phone as well? If you have an Amazon Echo speaker or other household gadgets that support Alexa, then downloading Alexa as your personal assistant is a no-brainer.
Robin is a great personal assistant option if you're not so interested in sharing your info with larger companies like Google or Amazon. While Robin may not be able to answer your burning questions like Siri can, she can still do so much for you.
If privacy is important to you, the Extreme personal assistant app has you covered. All of your conversations and questions to Extreme are never seen or shared with anyone besides you. Plus, if you ever decide to uninstall the app, all the data you've ever shared with Extreme is deleted.
You can ask Extreme questions, have it take a selfie of you, or use it in more practical ways like finding directions or setting timers and alarms. However you would usually use a personal assistant app, Extreme can do it for you securely.
Although you can rename Jarvis to whatever you'd like, why would you want to? Jarvis can make calls for you, open apps at your command, read messages aloud to you, play music, and more. For any easy personal assistant tasks, Jarvis is your guy.
Although DataBot is a personal assistant, it's more of a replacement for Siri's fun, witty side. On the more useful end, DataBot can help you customize multimedia presentations, answer specific questions through Google searches, and act as your secretary.
Hello reddit, just switched from a lifetime of iPhone use to the new Samsung S10. Super smooth transition so far, except for one thing that keeps bugging me. When I say "ok google", activate voice assistant and it does whatever I want it to do, I want to be able to close it hands off!
My question is: why the hell hasn't Google created a functionality where assistant can turn off the screen? If this is a permissions issue, I am sure that it could be a toggleable function in settings (with agreement, etc). Also, if I root my device, it is possible to install a tweak of some sort that could enable this functionality? I am a frequent user of Assistant and this is really ticking me off.
If you have switched to using Google Assistant on your Samsung smartphone, but using the voice assistant feature on your watch launches Bixby, use the following steps to allow Google Assistant to set up properly:
My big takeaway from this comparison and others I've seen is that the "Google Assistant is much smarter than Siri" proclamations are misleading. When you look at the two assistants' overarching ability to parse your language and understand what you're asking, they're on equal ground. Siri is every bit as smart as Google Assistant is in its natural language processing. Where the two assistants diverge is in the fact that there are a few particular areas where Google has a stronger base than Apple does - namely, things like search, photo identification, and translation. Those are areas that Google is just better at because it has more experience with them. Conversely, Siri is better with sports than Google Assistant is.
So while Siri isn't as strong a product as Google Assistant is, the delta isn't nearly as big as it's often portrayed to be. And more importantly, it's not Siri's 'intelligence' that's lacking; it's that there are certain domains where Google, as a whole, has a stronger base, and thus, it can leverage them in its virtual assistant. I'd love to see this comparison made again after WWDC to see if anything changes.

Siri (/ˈsiːri, ˈsɪri/ SEE-ree, SI-ree) is the digital assistant that is part of Apple Inc.'s iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, tvOS, audioOS, and visionOS operating systems.[1][2] It uses voice queries, gesture based control, focus-tracking and a natural-language user interface to answer questions, make recommendations, and perform actions by delegating requests to a set of Internet services. With continued use, it adapts to users' individual language usages, searches, and preferences, returning individualized results.
Siri's original release on iPhone 4S in 2011 received mixed reviews. It received praise for its voice recognition and contextual knowledge of user information, including calendar appointments, but was criticized for requiring stiff user commands and having a lack of flexibility. It was also criticized for lacking information on certain nearby places and for its inability to understand certain English accents. In 2016 and 2017, a number of media reports said that Siri lacked innovation, particularly against new competing voice assistants. The reports concerned Siri's limited set of features, "bad" voice recognition, and undeveloped service integrations as causing trouble for Apple in the field of artificial intelligence and cloud-based services; the basis for the complaints reportedly due to stifled development, as caused by Apple's prioritization of user privacy and executive power struggles within the company.[3] Its launch was also overshadowed by the death of Steve Jobs, which occurred one day after the launch.
