Rochester Greenovation & Viridian Energy

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are proud to announce that we have joined Viridian Energy’s Residual Fundraising Program (RFP).  Viridian is a socially responsible retail energy company that supplies affordable green energy in our area. The RFP program gives nonprofit organizations like ours the chance to earn income simply by having our members and supporters choose Viridian as their energy supplier.

It all starts with energy deregulation and energy choice, which gives us the ability to choose our energy supplier, much like we choose our telephone or internet company. After you select Viridian to supply your energy, your relationship with your utility will remain largely the same because they will continue to read your meter, send you bills, and provide emergency service as they always have.

When you sign up as a Viridian electricity or gas customer, you can save money over time on the supply portion of your energy bill and do your part to help the environment by choosing greener energy. And, for every month that you pay your bill as a Viridian customer, we receive income based on your energy usage.  Our organization also receives bonuses when we reach customer milestones.
It’s a unique fundraising program that is almost automatic and grows over time, and the best part is that you can contribute without writing a check.

Viridian Energy Products:
Electric—(except in Virginia) Choose from Variable or Fixed Rate plans, with two green options
Natural Gas— where available, your two green options for natural gas on a Variable Rate Plan
Solar – America is going solar and now you can too, Viridian & Solar City make the cleanest energy simple

How to Enroll:
 - First, make sure you have a copy of a recent utility bill.
 - Then, go to www.viridian.com/greenovation
 - Finally, click on “Become a Customer” located in the upper right hand corner of the page, and follow the instructions.*

If you have any questions on the RFP program, please give us a call at 585-494-7100. You can also contact Viridian’s Customer Care at 866-663-2508.
We are very pleased to share this incredible opportunity with you, and we thank you for your continued support.

Go Green with... Sharing?

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.  There's a reason we say it in that order, and not Recycle, Reuse, Reduce.  Each action involves a different level of energy output, and reducing your consumption of raw materials is practically energy-free.  This is why sharing makes sense.  Instead of each of us buying the same widget that we'll only probably use twice a year, a bunch of us owns a share in one widget.  Less materials go in to production, meaning less energy used and less extraction of scarce resources.

There are a couple things that Rochester Greenovation would like to start sharing.  Tools and transportation.  If you're interested in either, please contact us.  Our ToolShare program is going to be launched very soon, but we are always accepting tool donations (time to clean out the garage before it's too cold!)  If you're interested in our Vehicle and Bike Share program, send an email to jrowe [at] rochestergreen.org
