Exciting news from Austin ---

On October 16, Austin's 2nd Annual Reuse Day will kickoff "Reuse Week in Austin" in order to coincide with start of ReuseConex, the third international reuse conference and expo (Oct. 23-25) in Austin, and Reuse Alliance's Oct. 20 - National Reuse Day initiative.

Be sure to show your support for REUSE every day this October -- by shopping at your local reuse businesses, registering for ReuseConex, and signing the National Reuse Day petition (bit.ly/NatlReuseDay10-20)!

Partners in Reuse,

 

At the October 16^th City Council Meeting, Mayor Leffingwell will proclaim October 20^th , 2014 to be the 2^nd Annual Reuse Day and Start of Reuse Week in Austin. Rebecca Stuch, founder of Austin Creative Reuse and chair of the Reuse Alliance of Texas will accept the proclamation. Reuse Week also coincides happily with Austin’s hosting of ReuseConex, the international reuse conference and expo October 23-25!

I invite you to join us in Council Chambers* to represent the reuse community as this proclamation is presented. 

 

We will be using the hashtag #ReuseATX and encourage all our partners to use this hashtag as well to give Reuse Week and our Austin reuse community a big social media presence while the national and international reuse community convenes in Austin for ReuseConex.

 

There will be an opportunity to take a photo as a group with the proclamation, and we want to show Austin the strength of reuse in Austin, so I hope you can make it! Many of you were in attendance last year, but if you were not and are curious about how this works, you can view the video of last year’s Reuse Day Proclamation being presented here.
