Recycler of the Year Nominations Now Being Accepted
ALBANY - Each year the New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse and Recycling (NYSAR3), the professional recyclers' association for New York state, recognizes the driving forces behind the dedication, innovation, and passion that make recycling successful in New York .
Nominations are being accepted through October 15, 2013. Persons interested in making a nomination for individual, team or corporate efforts are encouraged to visit the NYSAR3 website at

Awards will be presented at the 24th Annual Recycling Conference in Cooperstown at the closing luncheon on November 14. The Annual Conference is a great opportunity for participants to network with other recycling professionals, decision makers, recycling coordinators, state and business representatives from across New York, as well as to hear the latest about recycling and composting trends, markets and policies.

This year's conference theme focuses on the strengths of collaborating at a regional level and will incorporate presentations, lessons and best practices from neighboring states and across the Northeast region. 2013 Board of Directors Elections
Now Accepting Nominations for At-Large Board Members
According to NYSAR3 by-laws, the four At-Large Board Members are elected by the general membership; two each year, for two-year terms. Any NYSAR3 member in good standing, from any region, can run for an At-Large seat. Board responsibilities include attending five meetings per year, participating in monthly/bi-monthly conference calls and serving on committees.
The Board is now taking nominations for the two At-Large seats that are up for election this year. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, October 25, 2013 until 3:00 pm. A slate of candidates will be created and will be e-mailed to NYSAR3 members the week of October 28, 2013. All NYSAR3 meeting, election and Fall Recycling Conference materials will also be available on our website at
www.nysar3.org.
Please consider nominating yourself or another member. It is important that we have a diverse board of directors to represent the whole state.
