Compliance tool is trying to crash one of my servers...

The short of it is that due to customer requirements I have the RETS server for a customer running on a fairly complex view; and normally there is no problem, BUT

 

Because of the wonderful little test that cause a (filed like ‘’%a%’ or field like ‘0%’ or field like ‘%O%’) to be generated my db server is popping at 100% CPU.

 

I’m not sure if I objected to this type of test before, I know if I did not I wanted to. This entire concept is a pretty flawed way to look for data in my opinion…

 

We have already added indexes, optimized the view in every way we can, but the fact that the tool landed on the worst possible field it could is not helping this…

 

Is there anything we can do on the RETS end of thing to make this test better? I have trouble believing I’m the only one who has issue with this type of test.
