Hi everyone,

I was wondering, if I need to build a specific pathway namely in E. Coli, how do I do that, except manually exploring all the pathways generated and checking which is the closest one to existing E Coli metabolic pathways, with minimal number of genes to add/knock out?

Hi Ivan,

Good question.  At the moment RetroBioCat focuses on building biocatalytic pathways, rather than for building pathways which start from metabolism (see figure 1 in the paper, synthetic biology vs biocatalysis).  Retropath is better suited to what you want to do. 

We may look into offering automated suggestions for pathways which go back metabolism in the future.
