Hi all
In the early 1980´s Norway developed its own educational computer named TIKI-100 (AKA the BBC micro in the UK).
A few months back I got hold of one machine, very few where produced.
The ambitions were high about this educational machine but the product was far from perfect.
It would probably never reach the marked if not of public support.
This is probably the only computer incorporating styrofoam and card box in the build (under the keyboard). :)

It's based on Z80 and runs a CP/M clone.

I put the picture of the motherboard in the highest resolution.
Note; there are some broken (burnt) traces below expansion port P11 and one above port P12.
I have not yet got this machine running yet since I don't have any boot disk, but it appears to start OK.
Two 5,25" floppy disks is installed.

It looks a really well built machine. It reminds me of the Tatung Einstein which I own during the 80's (and still have :-) )

Any idea, how the video interface has been implemented ? Other that that CTC, PIO CPU, 8912 for sound ... not a cheap machine for those days ?

There is no dedicated video chip in this machine, it was all done by 74 logic.
Basicly; the right hand of the motherboard is video logic and sound chip. In the front right corner is the 32kb video RAM.
The principle of how this work is well described in a youtube video by Ben Eater; https://youtu.be/uqY3FMuMuRo

I wonder if it would be able to make something like this in an Altera chip?

Are there any techincal similarities besides Z80. Same memory map? Compatile basic and software?

Its got 64k RAM (in the front left part) and it is running a CP/M clone, being CP/M compatible.
With a tight I/O addr space, see picture, sorry in Norwegian.
