using raspberry pi 5 for retro gaming

Hello, this is my first post since joining.

I'm considering using my Raspberry Pi 5 for games emulating mainly PS1 and PS2 games. Everyone is using the Redream emulator Software with RetroPie images, I can't find the pre-made image for Raspberry Pi 5, can it be installed on top of Ubuntu on the Pi 5? I know it can be installed on Ubuntu/Debian for PC, is it the same thing if it's Ubuntu on Pi?
