I'm sure this is a very basic question that's answered somewhere, but I'm unable to find where if so.

I'm trying to use an SC516 and SC519 (SC513 backplane), which the compatibility page says is supported "if one or more socketed chips are removed". Can someone tell which which IC(s) from which board to remove?

Thanks!

SC516 is a processor card that includes the clock, CPU, RAM, and ROM.
SC519 is a memory card that includes RAM and ROM.
If both are fitted to the backplane the RAM on SC516 conflicts with the RAM on SC519. Similarly the two ROM chips conflict.
To avoid the conflicts, just remove one of the RAM chips and one of the ROM chips.

The only reasons I can think of to use both these boards together are:
* if you want to use the FLASH ROM on SC519 to replace the OTP PROM on SC516
* if you want to use the bank select features of SC519 with an SC516 based system.

Thanks! I was clear they both had ROM and RAM ... but I wasn't sure if both would conflict; I had experimented with removing RAM, but not the ROM.

I have both because (in addition to your reasons) I expect I might end up using the 519 with a 518 in the future.
