Hello,

I have a bare Flock V2 pcb I'm going to build, but my system already has an RTC board (SC727). Since I don't need the Flock's RTC I figure I could save ~$12 by omitting the RTC parts, but I'd like a second set of eyes to check the schematic and ensure I'm not leaving off something important. My list to omit is:

U2 - DS1302+ and socket
Y2 - 32768Hz crystal
BT1 - CR2032 battery holder (and  battery)
U4 - 74AHCT174 and socket

U5 74HCT125 is needed for reset, so that stays on.

Additionally my two floppy drives (3.5 or 5.25) will be powered off a separate power supply, so I'll omit the J2 Floppy 5V connector that can supply power to one 3.5" drive.

If I do the above, the floppy disk controller itself should continue to operate, right?

Thanks,
Jeff Davis

Oops, I forgot to include the link the Flock V2 schematic: https://github.com/skiselev/flock-v2/blob/main/KiCad/Z80-FDC-V2-Schematic-2.0.pdf

Your list looks good.
You can also skip JP1, JP2, J4, C2, C3, and C7.
