Hi everyone,

In case it's of use, I have just laid out this little breakout board to make it easier to connect VGA displays and PS/2 keyboards to breadboards etc. or other PCBs - it's quite handy when prototyping!

My main intention was to use the boards when tinkering with Grant Searle's Multicomp design and Fabio Vittorio's ESP32-based FabGL library - and other stuff.

This is a good idea, but why hasn't anyone yet replicated Grant's VGA  and key interface yet?
This should be relatively easy since the schematics are published.
But at the same time, I will also recommend Marco's brilliant VGA/USB module available at Tindie.

I was thinking about laying out Geoff Graham's design in RC2014 format:

Chris just did this for the Altair-Duino. See the Pro model on adwaterandstir.com

Then again, using an ESP32 and FabGL would give a wifi connection too and be USB programmable, unlike a PIC-based version: http://www.fabglib.org/index.html

Plus you can play with the Altair 8800 emulation if you fancy! http://www.fabglib.org/_altair8800_2_altair8800_8ino-example.html

I built this awhile ago and it sat in box until I dusted it off because I couldn't get PigFX to work with CP/M. Works great as a general VT100 terminal.
