Hi, I have a working SC727 RTC card. I am using ZSDOS and RomWBW. I can load the clock driver with LDDS and set the time and date with TD S. When I reboot RomWBW displays the correct time and date (even after cycling power). When I select 2 to go into ZSDOS I have to load the clock driver with LDDS. TD then displays the correct date and time. My first question (1) is: How do I get the clock driver to load every time ZSDOS starts up? The RomWBW user's guide says that to enable file stamping RSX must be loaded and the directory must be initialized. My second question (2) is: How do I ensure RSX is loaded when ZSDOS starts up? My third question (3) is: How do I initialize the directory?  Question 4 is will initializing the directory wipe out my files under the various drive lettes (I'm assuming yes). Any help anyone can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Great.

Create a "PROFILE.SUB" file that contains the LDDS command.  PROFILE.SUB will be run at OS startup and will ensure the RSX is loaded.

I think it is handled by your first question.

My third question (3) is: How do I initialize the directory?

ZSDOS support multiple file date/time stamping options.  I strongly suggest reading about them in the file "ZSDOS Manual.pdf" in the Doc directory of the RomWBW distribution.  The use of LDDS implies the use of the DateStamper option.  To initialize a directory for DateStamper, you would use PUTDS.  Note: you should use the RELOG command after using PUTDS to force relogging the drives.

Question 4 is will initializing the directory wipe out my files under the various drive lettes (I'm assuming yes).

No, PUTDS will not destroy your existing directory.

Thanks,

Wayne

This turned out to be simpler that I thought. Once I set up PROFILE.SUB to execute LDDS and used PUTDS followed by RELOG I was done. It turns an RSX was not required as that was already part of the boot sequence. ZXD displayed the time stamps!
