I have been searching for hours for a simple self contained Z180 assembler that can take Zilog Z180 Assembly code and generate a HEX or BIN file.  So far everything I've seen  is berried it reams of folders and sub folders with no clear indication of what to do (or else costs an arm and a leg (E.G. Soft Tools Inc) .

I have always used/liked the SLR Systems Z80 assembler but I just noticed it does not allow you to automatically convert special Ops to DB’s   (EG. OUT0 xx  or IN0 xx).

I really like Zilog opcodes over Intel.  I normally run the above SLR assembler in a Windows CMD shell using SIMH Altair.  Works great.

What do people use here to say just program a small ROM monitor for the Z180

Thanks for any suggestions

John

SLR180 is the natural choice.  It is just the Z180 equivalent from SLR.  I have used it under emulation and it works great.

Thanks,

Wayne

Google search of "SLR180 download" - first two hits point to SLR180. You can get it directly from http://www.retroarchive.org/cpm/lang/SLR180.ZIP

Thanks a lot Wayne/Dave just got it at

Works great! I'm in business. I run it in the Altair SIMH under Windows  10
That SLR assembler is great.

You can take a look at zmac, it runs in windows and under linux. And has a CP/M version as well.

I only just found it a couple of days ago, when re-compiling the ROM for a simple80 SBC computer (still untested).

Simple80 as in the 4-chip Z80?

Did you buy the “simple80” part kit from eBay?  I’m curious whether the kit put together by the seller is still good.
