Nigel and I are pleased to announce that version
1.04 of the retro-B5500 emulator has been released. All changes have been posted to the repository for our
GitHub project. The
hosting site has
also been updated with this release, and for those of you running your
own web server, a zip file of the release can be downloaded from
Google Drive.
This
is a minor release containing a few fixes for issues we have
discovered since 1.03 was released over a year ago. Details in the
blog and
the
project wiki.
This is a minor release with miscellaneous corrections and enhancements. The most significant enhancements are a new implementation of the Add/Subtract operators and a new feature that allows ad hoc entry of card images into the card reader.
The blog also announces the establishment of a separate project for centralized archiving and maintenance of B5500 source code. I have seeded it with with the transcribed sources from the retro-b5500 project and worked with Rich Cornwell to get a few others debugged and archived. The repository for the new project is located at
https://github.com/retro-software/B5500-software.
