“Deivthin Kural” is a monumental work by Sri Ra. Ganapathy & it occupies a special place among many books written about Paramacharya. Sri Ganapathy painstakingly collected all of HIS talks, converstions, casual comments , answers to questions & so on , over many years at several places, covering several aspects of our ancient religion. This collection of seven volumes , is a veritable encyclopedia of Hindu religion & dharma to which people refer for the authentic information on these aspects.
Sri Kanchi Mahaswami Peetarohana Shatabdi Mahotsava Trust , Mumbai took up the translation of this collection into English, as VOICE of GOD, by the ardent devotees of Mahaperiyava to enable (i) Paramacharya’s thoughts & messages to reach wider audience & (ii)the translation to other Indian languages .
HE has covered a vide range of topics like Science, Engineering, Latest Technologies, Inventions, Politics, Law, & so on apart from all aspects of Vedhic Dharma, & Hindu religion -the main subject in HIS teachings, which have been given on a silver plate to us by Sri Ra. Ganapathy.
HE himself says that in the present circumstances, during the rule of Kali purushan, it may not be possible to follow all the points to 100%, but HE consoles himself that there are yet some persons, HE can see- following the dharma! . HE requests fervently every one to follow to the maximum extend possible, with -out compromising for the personal comforts. HE says don’t justify your doing knowingly wrong deeds referring to some other people as examples .U try to correct them , but if
in-corrigible, leave them to realize, definitely, later
In order to restore dharma, HE asks us,instead, to look at the persons, doing the things in the way they have to be done , despite the in-conveniences in the present environment
To quote an example, HE says all kinds of pocket milk is being used in many temples for Abhishekam to Moolavar daily, where as in some temples, cow milk is only still used for Abhishekams, despite the high cost & the difficulties involved in maintaining the cows. HE says if any body sincerely wants to do good deeds to any temple , as a family or group of like minded persons, donate cows & bear the recurring expense of maintaining them by creating a permanent Trust, thus earning punyam for go-dhanam , go-samrakshanam & daily abhishegam to the deity with cow milk , to every body joining him & the generations that follow them, instead of sins by doing wrong deeds knowingly taking along some innocent persons too, who may not be aware that they are doing wrong things .
Another example HE quotes in many temples, even today only kuththuvilkku deepams are kept & electric lights are prohibited in garbagruham. In our own Mutt this discipline is followed in the place where puja is done by Acharyals . We can enjoy the vibrations in these places during the puja.
In case of any doubt , we can refer to Deivathin Kural, where we can find the answer/ clarification. HE is the supreme authority in our relegion & we have abide by HIS teachings, as already said, based purely on Vedhas, Puranas, & Dharma shastrams
One heart rendering incident took place in Sri Mutt , when HE subjected himself to a great hardship to give a message! .
Once the personal attendant of Paramacharyal could not find HIM in HIS room in the Mutt around mid-night .
He became panicky as he could not find HIM in other places too , where HE normally goes & raised an alarm. All the lights were on & all the Mutt staff & others staying in the Mutt rushed to him On hearing the news they went round in different directions to the nook & corner, but could not find HIM-who is Omnipresent! one group found a person sleeping in the cow-shed- with mosquitoes spread all over the bare body enjoying his blood . Torch light was focused on the face to see who it was.
- Lo! Behold!- Mahaperiyavaa!!
Every body around got stunned! HE turned , many mosquitoes flew away & the Brahmam asked “Why U all want to disturb these creatures- while taking their food! I see these mosquitoes getting starved & killed daily. God has created these creatures also, it is our duty to look after all HIS creations! . U people won’t allow me to spend my night in the cow-shed with thousands of mosquitoes. That is why, I quietly came here & offered myself to them, after U all went to sleep!! They are happy & I am happy too. See me, nothing has happened to me. U all can go now & have a nice sleep”
HE got up & walked to HIS room briskly, as all were watching HIM spell-bound, with folded hands, chanting:
Hara Hara Sankara, Jaya Jaya Sankara
During HIS Vijaya yaathra through out the breadth & length of Bharatha desam HE used to stay mostly in the cow-sheds .
