Dear Fellow Brahmins:​

There is one other Center for Senior Citizens, not included in the List previously circulated, ~ of a different kind, ​being run by TAMBRAS (Tamil Brahmin Association) unit, S.S. Colony Trust in Madurai.

It cares for the Brahmin elderly, downtrodden, looking NO WHERE to go! other than seeking alms!  

The Senior Citizen Home in S.S. Colony, Madurai, is housed in its own building (completely debt free).  The OLD AGE HOME, presently houses 20 Brahmin ladies and gents over the age of 60+  offering free shelter to the needy, down trodden and deserted, looking nowhere else to go!  The Old Age Home has a cook on its payroll, preparing and serving 2 meals a day and tiffin to all of its Residents. In addition, there is a cleaning lady on its payroll, who keeps the premises clean and tidy. Two local doctors donate their time, to come to the Old Age Home twice a week, to check on health conditions of the Residents, prescribing necessary medicines, as may be required, which are then obtained from the Pharmacies and given to the needy residents, at no cost to them.  Thus, all Residents are truly well-cared for at the Old Age Home in Madurai.

To qualify, they should be truly needy and downtrodden (deserted); Madurai Old Age Home does not admit residents whose children are well to do or abroad, and are earning well but are wanting to place them in a housing for the elderly..
