Don't worry - it's quick and painless! Just click below, and once you're logged in we'll bring you right back here and post your question. We'll remember what you've already typed in so you won't have to do it again.

I was wondering if anyone has faced this issue before- a collaborative playlist I had with an old friend (made by the old friend) has been working for 2 years but all of a sudden the other day when I went to view it, nothing except the playlist name appears. The photo is gone, songs are gone, only opens on my laptop and on my phone it says "this content isn't available right now". I'm thinking this most likely means the paylist was deleted by them but I just wanted some confirmation haha.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

This most likely happened because the owner of the playlist either deleted it or removed the collaborators and made it private. Once a playlist becomes private, other users can't access the content. Only the owner of the playlist can.

If you have the chance, you can check with the owner of the playlist. If they made it private, they can change the playlist's privacy. Then you'll be able to access it again.

On another note, if you're experiencing this with other playlists, let us know, and we can investigate further.

I have the same problem. Playlists my wife and I have shared for years (on the same family plan), she can no longer play. We've both updated our Spotify, I've made the playlist public and then private again at least 3 times (I'd prefer to keep it private - it used to work that way), I've sent her numerous collaborator links, I've checked and unchecked all the permissions.... no matter what we try, all it ever says is "this content isn't available right now." My phone is an android while hers is an iPhone, but we've been sharing playlists for years without any problems.

If the above doesn't make any difference, we'd like to gather some additional info to better understand what's happening on your side. Does this happen when creating new playlists and sharing them with your wife to collaborate or does it happen just with pre-existing collaborative playlists? It'd be awesome if you could check.

Lastly, would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of your wife's device and yours along with the Spotify version you're running there? Meanwhile, we'd recommend you share the link with your wife, so they can copy and paste it on the search bar of the app. Then she should hit enter/search. The playlist should be visible. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

ive never used the spofity community before, so i dont know if this is the right spot to post this, but i cant reorder the songs on my playlists anymore. there are a ton of other things wrong with the android app (seriously, it's terrible but im too used to this stupid app to change) but this is kind of the nail in the coffin. starting today ive become unable to reorder my playlists. i heard that spotify sometimes tests or removes features at random so i think that may be what's going on but im not sure. anyone else with this issue? any advice?

Could you make sure that your playlists are sorted by your custom order? To do this open the Spotify app on your Android device, open Your Library, click on the Filters button next to the search bar and select sort by Custom order. The app should then mirror the order on your desktop device, where you can drag and drop the playlists to rearrange them.

You can also check this idea regarding an option to manually rearrange playlists. You can add your +Vote and Subscribe to the thread so you can stay up-to-date with any relevant news about this.

You should be able to arrange the songs in your own playlists exactly as you want in a Custom Order. The easiest way to do this is on the Desktop app where you can just drag the songs to their desired position.

Hey guys! I have a strange issue since the Saturday. Every time I try to play any of my playlists or the one with new propositions for the week, only first picked song is played. After that it goes totally random and Spotify is playing some weird suggestions, songs that I don't have on my playlist. Have you ever met with someting similar?

Unfortunately, we're not able to check the source of these songs. It could be a playlist that you played on accident, however if you think that someone has gained access to your Spotify account, make sure to follow all the steps provided in this support article.

It's as weird as it sounds. When I search for one song, literally press on it another one randomly starts playing instead of that one. When I search for and play "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" by "Creedence Clearwater Revival" by clicking on the banner of the song, it'd always, always start playing "Here Comes The Sun" by "The Beetles" and it's extremely infuriating. Please help.

Spotify recommends songs already in my playlists, sometimes the song is in the playlist it is basing the recommendation on. This makes no sense. It would be like me walking into a shoe store for recommendations for new shoes and the salesperson looking at my shoes and recommending 5 pairs of shoes where one pair is the same shoes I have on. It would also be nice if there was an option to permanently mark a recommendation to not be recommended again.

I have Spotify premium which I use across multiple devices, and whenever I scroll down for recommended songs in one of my playlists, it displays songs that are already in the playlists and most of the times entirely different genres as well.

Kudos to this, since I saw this bug appearing and disappearing lots of times in the past years. Lately, in "recommended" section, I keep seeing lots (almost all) of songs that are already in the current playlist! Looks like this feature became less and less smarter during time. Hope it will we fixed. Thanks!

@Clauz, would you mind showing us an example? Could you send the URI of both songs (the one which is already in your playlist and the other which appears in your recommendations)? To get them, open the Spotify desktop app > click the three dots next to the content > Share > Copy Spotify URI.

One more thing: clicking the "Add" button, at the right of a duplicate recommended song, automatically adds it in the playlist with no warning, but if I manually drag this song on the playlist (in the left pane), then the "already in playlist" warning is correctly shown. This happens on Mac client, haven't tried on Windows yet.

Thank you for your reply and for the URI:s

Can you let us know your OS and which versions of the apps you have on your devices?

When we have this information we'll be able to pass it on to the right team.

We've made sure to forward it to the right folks. We can't commit to a timeframe for when or if this will be fixed, but in the meantime, we suggest keeping the app updated so you don't miss out on any fixes.

I've been having this problem for months. I've tried updating and reinstalling the apps on desktop and phone (android). Tried logging out and back in. Even tried, at the request of the customer service rep, creating a whole new account. None of these things fixed it. I would really appreciate it if you could prioritize fixing this. It seems to be a programming problem on your end. If the app was programmed properly it would not recommend duplicate songs. All it needs to do is a simple check for each recommended song and not put ones in recommendations that are already listed on the playlist. How hard is this to do?

In case you're on the free tier of the app, this is expected behaviour on mobile, as playing on demand is a Premium-only feature (unless you're playing on desktop). If this happens on Premium as well though, we'd like to investigate a bit more.

How does your queue look like when you're playing a playlist? Are the rest of the playlist items queued up?
We'd also like to know if Smart Shuffle is enabled when this happens and if the issue can be observed while you're playing from your devices only or via external devices as well. In case this happens only with external devices - what is the connection type used? Is it Bluetooth or Connect?

And to begin some troubleshooting here, you can also try removing your cached data to see if that would make a difference

We'll be on the lookout for your replies.

I just downloaded the update today (desktop, macOS) and am having the same issue or similar issue: Spotify is not limiting the shuffle to only the playlist I'm in. I have a premium account, have Smart Shuffle turned off, cleared my cache and restarted the app. I'm playing music via the desktop app and streaming to an external bluetooth speaker. Here are the actions that lead to the unwanted behavior:
