The International Conference on Energy, Environment and Climate Change (International Conference on Utilities and Exhibition) – ICUE 2020 follows the series of ICUE conferences organized by the Asian Institute of Technology since 2006, and has the theme – Energy, Environment and Climate Change for its 2020 edition.  The ICUE 2020 will bring researchers, academicians, private sector, business, industry, policy personnel, nongovernmental organisations, international and regional institutions, consulting agencies and research scholars/students to present their recent research and findings, share/exchange their experiences, and provide a platform for networking and discuss new opportunities for collaborative research and outreach.  Past editions of ICUE conferences were well-attended by delegates from at least 35 countries around the globe and with conference proceedings published in IEEE Xplore. The list of conference topics are available at this link and are also listed below. A. Energy In the energy area, the technical, economic, and social dimensions of energy utilization, its effect to the environment and to climate change will be covered. The topics to be included (but not limited to) are: Recent trends in renewable (green) energy systems (RES), such as wind power, hydropower, solar energy, biomass, biofuel, geothermal energy, wave energy, tidal energy, hydrogen, etc Energy storage principles, trends and technologies Recent trends in fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) technologies Power devices, driving circuits, and control techniques for renewable energy systems RESs in smart grid Grid interactive systems in hybrid RESs Hybrid RESs with/without fossil-based technologies Smart cities and transportation Electric power generation, transmission and distribution Power system design, operation and interconnection Power system optimization, planning and analysis Energy infrastructure Greening the industrial sector’s energy use and options Reliability and maintenance in RESs Policies and strategies for promoting RESs Public awareness and education on RESs Energy efficiency in building designs Energy policies for improving energy access by promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency, and GHG mitigation New directions for energy policies in the context of rapid digitalization, application of artificial intelligence, big data and data analytics Green financing, green economy initiatives New business and financial models for energy projects Energy and sustainable development goals (SDGs) Trade-off and synergies of SDG goal 7 Tariffs, incentives, and subsidies B. Environment The current major concerns with regard to the environment include the status and remediation measures through technology and policy of air, water, and soil pollution, and issues related to waste and plastic management. Accordingly, some of the major areas of interest to the conference are on: Air, water and soil pollution: estimation, technologies and policies Waste management Plastic pollution and management Environmental management systems and policy Cleaner production Ecosystems, services, accounting and management C. Climate Change Climate change is one of the major threats to human survival due to increasing greenhouse gas emissions. The conference will broadly discuss topics related to climate science, greenhouse gas mitigation and climate change impacts and adaptation in terms of technology, policies, and measures to address the challenges.
