Dr. Li CHEN has been working on the Recommender System, which is an
inter-disciplinary
research by applying knowledge and techniques from Human-Computer
Interaction and Machine
Learning to help online users make decisions and alleviate information
overload. She is looking
for one PhD candidate with particular interests in this research area.

Requirements
* Master degree in computer science or software engineering
* Research experiences in user interaction design, user evaluation,
data mining, online
decision agents, recommender systems, or related topics
Starting dates
* Starting date is September 1, 2010, or at the earliest convenience
afterwards
Studentship for Full-time Students: HK$13,200 per month
* PhD student x 36 months (Guaranteed)
Scholarship (additional to the studentship)
* Departmental Scholarship

* Financial support for overseas attachment / research-related
