A Word From the Finance Committee
As
we live into our new circumstances after the sale of our Old Chapel
Hill Road property, there are some things you need to be aware of. The
proceeds from the sale of the property are not to be used for general
budgeting purposes. We are in the process of making investment
decisions for the funds. The income they then generate will be
available for us to spend as needed. In the interim, as we have begun
to share equally in Calvary's operational expenses, we are falling
several thousand dollars short of the funds needed for month-to-month
expenses. Our weekly offerings are averaging about $1,500. They need
to be more in the $2,000-2,500 range. How is it with your giving?! Can
you help bridge the gap?
We
apologize that we have not yet been able to print out individual
records of giving this year--in the midst of the move, we have
temporarily lost access to the contributions module of our computer
programs. As soon as we can resolve that, we will print and distribute
your personal record. That will give you an opportunity to evaluate
prayerfully what you are giving to the life and ministry of the church.
We would really love to be able to become more faithful in our
missional giving as we move forward. But doing that will require
additional giving.
One
thing to note: If you make a cash donation, you still need to put it
in one of the offering envelopes and mark it for Resurrection UMC. That
is the only way it can be identified as going to RUMC's operating
budget.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration of your giving to Christ's Church!
