Office Hours
The office at RUMC will still be open for a couple of weeks, so if you need to stop by to pick up a directory or Upper Room, feel free to do that! Joanie will be moving back and forth some between RUMC and Calvary during the week, so you might want to call first to be sure you can access the building.

Members of the General Conference Delegation will come to help us gain
understanding of what decisions were made by the Special Called General
Conference and next steps for moving forward.
Monthly Food Distribution
Volunteers are needed for the monthly food distribution at Calvary UMC on Monday, March 4. Sorting of food begins at 2:00, and distribution begins at 3:00 – the whole event is usually over by 4:30 pm. Come out and lend a hand!
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
We will celebrate Shrove Tuesday of March 5th from 6:00-7:30 pm with a traditional pancake supper. Please come out and join us!
Save the Date – CROP WALK April 7
The 2019 CROP Walk is on Sunday, April 7th, and Calvary and RUMC will have a joint team. We hope everyone will participate in this important event by either walking or sponsoring someone who is walking. You can sign up at https://www.crophungerwalk.org/durhamnc/Team/View/95135/Calvary-Resurrection
CARVE and Githens Contributions
We will continue to support the Urban Ministries Food Pantry, joining with Calvary in their ongoing gifts to this ministry. There is a basket under the prayer table where you my leave your gifts on any Sunday. Our brothers and sisters at Calvary are accustomed to bringing their gifts on the second Sunday of each month, but RUMC folks who would like to continue the discipline of weekly gifts are welcome to do so.
The Serve Team also plans for us to continue supporting the students at Githens Middle School and will be working with the folks at Calvary to identify a place for collecting these items. More information will follow.
Damascus Road Sunday School 9:30-10:30 Each Sunday
Damascus Road Sunday School IS meeting each Sunday morning at Calvary. This class uses the Upper Room devotional guide as a curriculum, and everyone is invited to join them. If you have questions, Sandra Shepherd is the person to contact (information in the directory).
Stories of Divine Desire – Last Class – It’s Not Too Late to Join Us
Join us for Stories of Divide Desire, as we take a deep dive into the Luke-Acts narratives. We’ll engage in different communal reading practices as we attend to the revolutionary work of the Spirit in the book of Acts. The last Sunday of the study is March 3, and on that day, the class will meet at 4:30 – note that this is a different time from previous weeks!

The Upper Room devotional guide for March and April 2019 is available in the narthex in both regular and large print editions. If you have set a goal to have or continue a daily devotional time in the New Year, these guides are a great resource!
