Key Responsibilities:
Understand client requirements holistically both current and prospective, participate in discussions and drive discussions that bring clarity and details that can have a positive influence on overall quality.
Design holistic system, sub systems and develop system design document that outlines implementation scope for entire team; review & get sign off from all stakeholders and set expectations.
Engage with customers and stakeholders in all phases of project life cycle – requirements gathering, solution design reviews, development, testing, UAT, delivery and support.
Deliver innovation in design and solutions leveraging latest best practices Data warehouse, Data Analytics.
Evangelize across the team to adopt best practices, and continuously keep updated on latest technologies.
Ensure the design proposal makes balanced tradeoff across schedule, cost, technology, security, and compliance requirements.
Get hands on, with development efforts at any level, assisting developers and/or developing oneself to keep projects going.
Mentor team of engineers from database developers, analytical experts and data integration/visualization engineers providing technical & non-technical guidance to help them grow their skills, deliver quality implementations for successful completion of projects.
Sets best practices for data systems development and diligently enforces them across the projects through combination of process, education, training, and sufficient review processes.
Ensure quality of team members consistently meets/exceeds set standards and expectations.
Provide RFP response, architecture design and estimation. Answer technical queries in proposal defence.
(knowledge, Skills & Experience):
12-15 years of relevant experience in architecting, design, and development of data warehouse systems (SQL Server based on Cloud/on premise and Analytics) at enterprise scale.
At least 2+ years of experience in building end to end data warehouse and analytical systems using Snowflake, IICS
Masters/Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or related fields
Must have at least 5+ years of experience in technical leadership role in driving design, architecture of large-scale transactional systems and analytics systems involving Service Oriented /3-tier architecture.
Must be hands on, deeply technical and exposed to latest features within data platform development, able to do both coding and guide a group of junior/mid-level database engineers.
Must have at least 3+ experience in managing technical teams and leading them to deliver large scale solutions.
Must have excellent communication skills (English) to interface with US clients directly and verify in proficient in all types of communication modes – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
Must have strong experience in Performance Tuning / Optimization Initiatives using DB Profiler tools
Combination of working in a startup for a few years and in a large company/product for a few years.
Insurance domain experience in dealing with industry specific data and exposure to relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
Ability to act independently to resolve issues, excellent communication (English) and interpersonal skills, strong critical & analytical thinking.
