Role: Data Analyst with P&C (Property and Casualty)

Location: New Jersey (Remote)

Duration: Long term

 

Responsibilities:

• Identify trends and growth opportunities through analysis of complex data sets.

• Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques.

• Create reports and present them to the department heads.

• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.

• Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary.

• Support the data warehouse to identify and revise reporting requirements.

• Identify opportunities to improve data and business processes utilizing Python, R, or C#.

• Executing full lifecycle of software development.

• Administer tests and implement new or upgraded software.

• Assist with strategic decisions on new systems and software.

• Form data management and governance processes.

• Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies.

• Filter and clean data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code issues.

• Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports.

• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

 

Skills:

• Strong SQL and Data Analysis skills, working knowledge of SQL best practices (e.g., schema management etc.)

• Professional proficiency in reporting packages, databases, and programming.

• Experience with SQL Server and one ETL tool like Informatica, Data Stage, SSIS etc

• Knowledge of Python, PySpark is good to have

• Knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud is good to have

• Very strong analytical skills, including data mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.

• Ability to identify trends and patterns in complex data sets.

• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.

• Knowledge of any reporting tools like Talend, PowerBI is good to have

• Knowledge of Agile framework

• Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team structure, but also independently

• Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities

• Demonstrates analytical and systematic approach to problem solving

• Able to absorb ongoing technical information, business acumen, and apply it effectively.

• Highly organized with good time management skills.

• Ability to succeed in a collaborative work environment and work cross-functionally.
